Spyshots: 2010 Ferrari F450
Somewhere in northern Italy, Italian manufacturer Ferrari is making some adjustments to the upcoming F450, getting ready for its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
Even though its still in the testing phase, the F450 is cloaked in a black, bulky camo, revealing little of the car. Fortunately, the overall appearance of the car can be distinguished showing the Ferrari look we have become accustomed to.
From a point of view the only things which stands out from underneath all that black matting are the daytime running lights, fitted in a very unusual way, as they climb towards the windshield. Although they are clearly fitted on both sides of the car, for some reason the right-side cluster doesn’t appear to be operating.
The new Ferrari, codenamed by its builder F142, is said to provide well over the 520 hp developed by the F430 Scuderia. The F450 will be powered by an enlarged version of the 4.5 liter V8 unit, paired with the same double-clutch seven-speed transmission we can find of the Ferrari California.
As for how much it costs, it’s all speculation at this point. We can however get an idea by looking at the prices charged by Ferrari for its F430, the predecessor of the F450. MSRP for a Ferrari F430 is $168,005-$227,000 in the U.S., starts at 120,000 GBP in the U.K. and goes to about 175,000 euros in the European Union.
