According to a published report by German magazine Auto Motor und Sport, Italian sports car maker Ferrari is well on its way to present the F450 concept at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Codenamed as the F142, the new car is rumored to feature a slightly increased height, a longer wheelbase and a wider track compared to the outgoing F430. Recent spy images also show that the F450 will feature revised front and rear ends, larger intakes and a centrally mounted exhaust system.

The F450 is expected to be powered by a 4.5 liter V8 that would be capable of cranking out 550 hp. The powerplant is to be paired with a dual-clutch transmission that is found in the Ferrari California. The new Ferrari will also, most probably feature the Kinetic Energy Recovery System, also known as KERS.

What do you think of the F450? Please leave a comment.

Another interesting scoop: Ferrari has patented layouts for a four-wheel hybrid system:

    Hi laatste man,
Where do you get your information from because I get mine from Google Alerts on Ferrari and other cars, and it seems to come a day later than when something happens? There were six individual diagrams of patents for the four-wheel hybrid system. I’m doing an article on it tomorrow so I encourage you take a look at it.
Thank you for sharing that link to autocar and commenting on my blog.

    Cheers,
    Rick

I just follow a couple of interesting sites (autoblog.com, autoblog.nl, your site of course, …) and I use the google alerts as well.

Yet another nice scoop, a Peninfarina coach build: http://www.autoblog.nl/archive/2009/05/24/the-golden-ferrari-pininfarina-coachbuilt#post-29152

It’s a dutch site, so I will give a brief explanation… The car was spotted at drink in Monaco. It’s called ‘The Golden Ferrari’, and the design refers to an old coach build by Fiorenzo Fantuzzi on the 330LMB. Technical details are not available.

    Hello laatste man,
Thank you for telling me about the sites you visit. I’m going to check them out too. I don’t really speak another language except a little Spanish that I learned in junior high school so I wasn’t able to read anything on the dutch site.
What do you mean when you say,”drink?” Is it a body of water; ocean, lake, pool, etc.? I’m not familiar with that term used that way, but I would like to learn what you are saying so I can understand you.
I thank you for that link to autoblog and your comment. I’ve never heard of Fiorenzo Fantuzzi.
Please fill out my eight question survey to the right of the article because I want to give away free information having to do with Ferraris and to know what my audience wants. Tell me what you would like to get if you complete the survey? I’m here to serve the enthusiasts and fans of Ferrari.

    Cheers,
    Rick
