Ferrari auctioned off special F430 for earthquake relief

abruzzof430_580web

Ferrari has auctioned off its very last F430 that is to roll off the line later this year to raise money for Abruzzo, an area in Italy hit by an earthquake a couple of months ago.

The F430 was auctioned last May 16-17 weekend to the highest donor at RM Auctions Leggenda e Passione event at the Ferrari factory in Maranello. It will feature special two-tone silver and gold, the colors of the Aquila-the city most directly impacted by the disaster-the one off will be outfitted with extra equipment options from Ferrari’s Carrozzeria Scaglietti customization catalog and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Ferrari chairman, Luca di Montezemolo, and a dedication plate to account for the donation.

Ferrari says it will work with local authorities from the region to make sure the money goes to those who need it the most.
