Another great video from Evo’s archive, this time Editorial Director Harry Metcalfe drives a Ferrari Enzo to the south of France. This is not any Ferrari Enzo, mind you, it belongs to the drummer of Pink Floyd, Nick Mason. The car was also featured on Top Gear a few years ago. Here Harry gives you an in-depth look at the Enzo, and shows you stuff that you won’t see in a normal road test. It’s pretty cool.

The first ones who have put to face to face a supercar and a jet fighter were the guys from Top Gear. And since then this kind of race has become a fashion. This video has surfaced on the web showing a Ferrari Enzo race a CF-18 jet fighter. And not any kind of Enzo, but one tuned by Edo Competition called the EDO Ferrari Enzo XX Evolution. The event took place at the military base in Cold Lake where the two performance machines went against each other in a drag race. The EDO Ferrari Enzo XX Evolution is powered by the standard V12 engine, that had its displacement increased to 6.3-liter and has underwent extensive modifications like had its weight reduced by 220 pounds. The total output of the EDO Ferrari Enzo XX Evolution is rated at 860 hp and 575 lb-ft (780 Nm) of torque. These translate into a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration time of 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 242 mph (390 km/h). The CF-18 jet fighter can hit a top speed of 1127 mph, but it has a slower sprint.

Last year, the Ferrari FXX was featured in one of the Top Gear episodes and it managed to take the first place on the show’s lap time board. The Ferrari FXX managed to be a full 6.4 seconds faster on the Top Gear track than the Gumpert Apollo. Top Gear released a video about a week ago showing the Ferrari FXX being driven by the Prancing Horse’s test driver Dario Benuzzi.

The Ferrari FXX is powered by a 6.3 liter V12 monster that sends 800 hp to the rear wheels via an F1 transmission.

The Ferrari 458 Italia has received two prestigious awards from BBC Top Gear Magazine. “Supercar of the Year” and for the first time for Ferrari, “Car of the Year.” This brings Ferrari’s tally of consecutive Top Gear Magazine Awards to the astonishing figure of eight in seven years.

The Ferrari 458 Italia was revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September to immediate critical acclaim. Following an extensive international media test drive programme in Maranello, the home of the fabled Prancing Horse, the car has been the subject of enthusiastic reviews, with its handling, roadholding, ride comfort and performance all being subject to the kind of superlatives rarely seen from the world’s leading journalists.

In electing the Ferrari 458 Italia their “Supercar of the Year”, BBC Top Gear Magazine underlined how it has established “the new benchmark in getting from A to B as rapidly as possible.” They also described the 570-hp V8-engined berlinetta as “a game-changing car.”

When nominating the car for the overall top award as “Car of the Year”, BBC Top Gear Magazine described how it became “our winner because the scope of its abilities is absolutely breathtaking”, concluding that the Ferrari 458 Italia “isn’t just a worthy winner, it’s off the scale!”

We’re told the images above and below are a work-in-progress renderings of Jim Glickenhaus’s proposed Ferrari P4/5 Competizione.

While the Michiel Van Den Brink renderings-both of them-were great, we’ve been told-by Glickenhaus himself over at FerrariChat.com forum-these renderings are closer to Jim’s vision of a car that’s very similar to his P4/5.

One question still remains-what Ferrari will he base this race-ready car after? Top Gear seems to think it will be the Ferrari 458 Italia.

According to a relatively small survey conducted by the European telecom company Orange for the MPH Top Gear Live show, a sort of live-action performance car show was held in car-crazed England. Ferrari’s Cavallino Rampante was voted far and away as the most iconic performance car badge around. Out of the 5,235 participants, 48% recognized the Ferrari logo. Following behind were Aston Martin (25%), Lamborghini (9%), and Bugatti (5%).

Given Ferrari’s storied racing and road car heritage, as well as its trademark red livery, it’s no real surprise the automaker is at the top of this list. Even among non-car buffs, the brand is known for it’s performance, luxury, and high priced cars.

Rounding off the top ten were Porsche (4%), Maserati (3%), Spyker (2%), Lotus (2%), Koenigsegg (1%), and Pagani (1%).
